During the pilot phase, 15 Labs across Europe highlighted the need for support between education & creative work
Starting in December 2020, over a period of 3 months until March 2021, a first round of Learning Labs was piloted across 11 European countries. Cultural and creative professionals from selected creative hubs brought their projects to local schools and universities to build bridges between the cultural and creative sectors (CCS) and all types of educational institutions.
Why? The CCS are the center of innovation and creative thinking and are full of talent and practical knowledge that should be further promoted and shared. There is an obvious need and benefit to be achieved from including CCS entrepreneurs themselves in educational processes. Learning Labs aim to promote transversal & creative skills and foster exactly that cross-sectoral cooperation between the CCS and Education. While these skills continue to play a more and more crucial role in the job market, their inclusion in formal and non-formal educational curricula is still largely insufficient. Thus, Creative FLIP sees the need for and supports the implementation of innovative pilot programs which strive to achieve this change.
